Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates place you in the middle of Fossil Grove; home to a small collection of 325 million year old fossilised Lycopod trees and one of the most fascinating (and under-appreciated) geological sites in all of Glasgow.

Somewhere nearby, a cache is hidden - but you will need to answer some geological questions in order to find it! The answers to all of the questions are avaliable online.

The May 1980 eruption of Mt St. Helens, Washington, USA had a VEI of A.

Mineralogy

Arkose is a sandstone with a mineralogical composition of at least BC % fieldspar.

Seismology

Rounded to the nearest whole number, the maximum possible intensity of the December 2005 Lake Tanganyika earthquake was D on the richter scale.
