Geocache Description:

3 March 2019, 09:30 - 11:30

A food and geochat caching meetup for regulars and newbies, in the surroundings of the Ikea Restaurant in Dublin.

The end of two eras? What the hell? Well, unless you were living under a (geocaching) rock for the last few months you'll know I have relocated to Cork for work. This has worked out very well for me so far but I have an intrinsic refusal to host a "goodbye Dublin" event as its only up the road and I fully intend to keep coming once I'm settled. So thats era one ending. Era two was my 500 day caching streak, the end of which got caught up in the move in late January. The planned event to congratulate and back-pat myself was canned. So a Swedish Breakfast, at awkwardly short notice on a weekend I'm up either packing more stuff into the car or dangling out apartment windows trying to clean them ready for selling, seems like a good idea.

So a Swedish Breakfast will be had. This works out well. My apartment has been cleared of food (and most other stuff) so I actually cannot make myself breakfast. Instead I will have a whacking great fryup here, with gallons of coffee. You can have this too, or something smaller or healthier or whatever.

The Swedish Breakfast series is one of Dublin and Belfasts regular events, taking place every few months... ample time to have tried the hints gleaned from the previous meetup! So come join us for breakfast in Dublin on Sunday, 3rd March from 930am until 1130am. That said, we have been known to stay past lunchtime and if anyone shows up after the official end I will of course keep the logbook open. We'll meet in the restaurant on the very top floor of Ikea (go in via the main entrance under the building and just follow the escalators) at one of the tables. The restaurant opens at 930am and I will have my food and be seated at about 945am. We typically sit in the same place everytime, so look towards the seats to the right by the wall (not the windows) as you walk away from the tills.

There is however, absolutely no requirement to buy food or drink at the venue; however I would imagine it is hard to watch other people tearing into bacon and sausages when you're having nothing... There is plenty of healthier food available, but I just can't resist a good fry....

This will be an opportunity to help travel bugs and geocoins on their way as well as eat a hearty breakfast ready for your own Sunday caching adventures. Bring your own personal coin/bug selection for discovery and bring your questions about that annoying puzzle along too. You may (or may not) get help! If you have any plans for upcoming caches, this event would be a great time to discuss them with the group. If you're thinking of going to your first event, come along! If you're thinking of a days shopping, why not tie it in with an event cache??

As an aside, there is a very, very small chance my muggle parents may be coming up this weekend too so if they do come, be nice. Their attendance is doubtful, but they may come to get a break from apartment work. We'll see.

To/from the event:
There is an absolutely incredible amount of free parking in the Ikea carpark so car is by far the best way to get here. Sporadic buses (13/13A) will get you to Ikea, even at this hour on a Sunday.

Please note this one is in DUBLIN! Northern cachers please bear in mind it is about a ninety minute drive at the speed limit to the Dublin Ikea from the outskirts of Belfast.

And just in case everyone is worried, Swedish Breakfasts WILL CONTINUE even though I'm down in Cork now. Dublin ones are easy to do, Belfast ones more challenging through weight of distance but WILL happen as part of weekenders. A seperate event series for Cork Breakfasts will be started soon and I expect absolutely everyone to come down for them no matter what else they have on or how far the drive.
