Geocache Description:

This cashe is situated on a footpath forming part of a cracking woodland walk. keep your ears open for woodpeckers and yellow hammers among lots more woodland wild life. This wood is relativly new and forms part of the national forest, when I was a lad this was one large field that was often used to craze some magnificent horses, becuse of this it earned the name among local youths as 'The Stallion Field'.

A rather large amount of walking is required to get this one, so make sure you have your boots on and remember that at certain times of year the going can be muddy, this is however a recognised footpath and is often walked. The start of the path is from the council playing fields on Bosworth Road ( close to Green Lane Stores ) in the village of Castle Donington, plenty of road side parking. There is currently a large amount of construction work being carried out to create a new estate and bypass but the path is clearly marked using safety fencing at a small point.

This is a medium sized plastic container placed at low level and should prove an easy find when at the cashe zone

contains some swaps

If you continue on from the cashe zone you exit the wood at the top of what was The Stallion Field, the footpath continues on over what is Donington Park Race Track, you can however walk back through the wood on the opposite side in order to make this a short woodland experience.

Good hunting
