Ακριβώς στο σημείο που βλέπετε το ερωτηματικό αυτού του mystery-cache ρίξαμε τον Οκτώβριο 2008 για πρώτη φορά μπροστά στην Κρήτη την άγκυρα του ιστιοφόρου μας μετά που περάσαμε τον φάρο του Άγιου Ιωάννη ερχόμενοι από την Θήρα. Ήταν τα τελευταία από τα 15.000 ναυτικά μίλια πού πήγαμε τα προηγούμενα χρόνια γύρω στην Μεσόγειο και στην Μαύρη Θάλασσα.
Με τα πρώτα μας βήματα στο έδαφος της Κρήτης μας άρεσε πάρα πολύ το νησί και αποφασίσαμε να μείνουμε, ενώ το ιστιοφόρο μας με τον καινούριο ικανό ιδιοκτήτη έφυγε για άλλα υπέροχα ταξίδια.
Εδώ και κάποια χρόνια ξέρουμε ότι ο καλύτερος τρόπος να ανακαλύψει κανείς ένα νησί σαν την Κρήτη είναι το geocaching, όμως στην αρχή μόνο λίγες κρύπτες υπήρχαν στην Ανατολική Κρήτη. Λοιπόν, είχαμε αυτή την υπέροχη περιοχή για να βάλουμε τις δικές μας κρύπτες. Αγαπάμε να διαβάζουμε σχεδόν κάθε βράδυ κάποια ωραία find-logs.
Μέχρι τη στιγμή που κρύψαμε αυτό το geocache υπάρχουν 200 ενεργοποιημένα geocache του fio4ever στην Κρήτη.
(Επιπλέον βρίσκονται και κάποιες κρύπτες του fio4ever στα γειτονικά νησιά, στην Γαύδο και στην Κάρπαθο και λίγες στην Γερμανία.)

In October 2008 we placed exactly at the position of the “Question Mark” of this mystery-cache the anchor of our sailing boat for the first time on Crete after having passed the lighthouse of Agios Ioannis coming from Santorini. These were the last of more than 15.000 nautical miles we had sailed all over the Mediterranean and the Black Sea the years before.
Just arrived we fell in love with Crete and with our first steps to the island we decided to stay, while our sailing-boat starts for new adventures with her new well experienced owner.
Some years ago when we learned that geocaching is the perfect way to explore an island like Crete, there were hidden only few at Eastern Crete. So, a great and wonderful area waiting for our geocaches to hide. At the end of the day it is fun to read almost daily all the nice find-logs.
This one now has been number 200 of our active geocaches hidden on Crete at the moment of hiding it.

Nach mehr als 15.000 Seemeilen, die wir im Laufe der Jahre im Kielwasser unseres Segelboots hinter uns gelassen hatten, passierten wir im Oktober 2008 von Santorin kommend den Leuchtturm von Agios Ioannis, um genau hier, wo Ihr das Fragezeichen dieses Mystery-Caches seht, erstmals unseren Anker vor Kreta in den Grund zu graben.
Unsere Liebe zu Kreta haben wir recht schnell entdeckt und sind hier zu Landratten geworden, während unser Boot unter der kundigen Hand des neuen Eigners wieder auf Grosse Fahrt gegangen ist.
Vor ein paar Jahren, als wir Geocaching als geniale Art und Weise, die Insel zu erkunden, kennen lernten, waren im Osten Kretas nur wenige Dosen zu finden und so hatten wir die perfekte Spielwiese, um selbst Dosen zu verstecken. Ein besonderes Vergnügen ist es, nahezu täglich die meist überaus netten Find-Logs zu lesen.
Diese Dose, die Ihr hier sucht, ist zum Zeitpunkt des Versteckens unsere 200ste aktive Dose auf Kreta.
(Ein paar weitere fio4ever-Dosen lassen sich auch auf den Nachbarinseln Gavdos und Karpathos finden und einige sind auch in Deutschland versteckt.)
