The May Long weekend is the Kicks of the start of the season of the Lock System of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Lock One in Trenton is the start of the system and ends at Lock 45 @ Port Severn.
And With this I hope this will wake the cacher from the winter slumber . Re-Aquaint with your fellow cacher. Welcome the Local/Newbie/Out-Of-Towner to the area. And cross our fingers and a bit of luck this time. See a boat or more use the lock.
The Trent-Severn Lock System has 2 Lift Locks: Lock 21 In Peterborough. And the other Lock 36 is in Kirkfield. The only two lift locks in Canada. Plus there is a Rail Lock located at BIG CHUTE (Lock 44) Where the boat is lifted out of the water and transporded by rail up and down a hill.
