Pump Hill Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Room1009: This cache has disappeared for the fourth time. I suspect someone has targeted it for theft. I can't be replacing it every few weeks. Many thanks to the 61 cachers who found it and a special thanks to the 4 who awarded it a favorite point. Perhaps someone else can use this spot.

Geocache Description:

An easy cache in an interesting location. Pump Hill was named for the pumping station that pumps water up to irrigation ditches in the Lincoln Park area of Cañon City. The city recently completed a $300,000 project on the hill. The street was resurfaced and the retaining wall rebuilt. The old wall was crumbling and rocks and mud washed into the street every time it rained.

This is one of the first places the sand trucks hit when it snows. It can be very treacherous to drive when it is icy. I once watched a school bus spin out and slide sideways down the hill. Fortunately no one was injured.

There is a place to pull off the street very close to the cache. Please use stealth if muggles are in the area and please replace the cache so it is well out of sight. The container is small with room for some swag and smaller trackables. There is a home made prize for the FTF.
