DoctorHeat's Trivia Cache #2
Take a beautiful drive thru parts of Mammoth Cave National Park and see areas seldom seen by the tourists. You can drive to this cache and park nearby. Since the park service does not approve of hidden caches I have made this one a virtual cache. Beware of Ghosts & Goblins in this area, go too far and you may enter more spirits lurking in the area. Park your car and look for this spot. It will be very close and easy to find. Once you find it answer the following questions and send me an email to prove you found it. (No Internet "finds" accepted)
1. Who was buried here?
2. What was the person famous for?
If you want to know more about this person ask at the visitor center. Consider this, at the time this person was one of the most famous people in the USA and what happened to him appeared on the front page of the nation's newspapers at the time.
While in the area take a cave tour. Or better yet pack a lunch, lock the car and head back to N37 11.828, W086 04.757 and hike down the fire road about 2 miles to an old picnic area. Have fun!
