This BSA Scout created geocache is one of a series of caches that educates the public about government and community service organizations. Each scout researched key background information for a specific organization (e.g., PA General Assembly, volunteer fire department). Some of the information collected included organization mission, community services provided, type of organization, and funding. This civic cache includes one scout’s research sealed into the small geocache. By placing their research, the scout aims to educate others about their community while promoting physical fitness. The information in this cache may also help future scouts make progress on their citizenship merit badges and other requirements.
This civic cache is located in Memorial Park and was placed with Grove City Borough permission. The cache is not too far from a road. There are no immediately adjacent parking spots. However, parking is a short walk away. Scouts practice Leave No Trace, so please do not park in the grass alongside the road. Western Pennsylvania is often wet, and the ground often soft.
