PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOT TAKING PLACE AT STANLOW & THORNTON STATION! DON'T GO THERE!
Stanlow & Thornton is the least used railway station in Cheshire, and the fifth least used in the country. It is located in the heart of the Stanlow oil refinery, on the Ellesmere Port to Warrington line. It has a very limited service, with only six trains visiting the station each day - three in each direction, all at inconvenient times. It is accessible to the public only by train, bike or foot.
This event will be held to celebrate the awesomeness of Stanlow & Thornton station, although due to the difficulties of holding an event in the middle of an oil refinery, we will be located near the equally poorly-served Ince & Elton station instead. I'm hoping to be able to provide the early-risers with a bacon butty or two.
Following the gathering at Ince & Elton station, at 6.36am I will be taking a 2 or 3 minute train journey, followed by a 30 or 40 minute walk back to my car. Please feel free to join me on this walk if you want, but note that this excursion will not form part of the geocaching event.
