What: Schmoozing about our favorite finds, and drawing kewl pictures with tracklog!
When: Saturday, March 30th, 2019, from 9:00am to 11:00am
Where: Little Big Econ State Forest, Barr St Trailhead
Who doesn't love schmoozing about our favorite hobby? Who doesn't love wandering about with a GPS, drawing pictures with your tracklog? Why not both? We can talk about creativity, whilst exercising creativity! As an added bonus, everyone who attends gets a unique, "Creation Celebration" souvenir!
A suggested method for folks who want to draw geo-art: Sketch out your preferred image in Google Earth first, then save it as a tracklog. Then open that tracklog in Basecamp, and transfer the tracklog to your GPS. Then, as you wander around the field, you can "trace" your existing lines, and hopefully get a good image out of it. I plan on bringing my laptop, so we can upload your tracklog as pictures, to the cache page. This is commonly referred to as the BBear Method.
If you wish to camp this weekend, Joy, from Florida Forestry Service has graced us with a 3 day camping permit. The weather should be amazing, for such an adventure!
I hope to bring a pop up shelter, to offer us some shade, as we schmooze, so don't forget your camp chair.
See you There!
