Appa is a fictional character from the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is the companion and friend of the titular Avatar Aang as they explore the globe. He is the last sky bison, six-legged mammals who can fly via airbending, moving the air itself to achieve flight. Appa the sky bison has nothing to do with the restaurant other than the name.
