Take a walk into a pocket of cool, shady forest in a less visited park of Blackbutt Reserve. Asplenium australasicum ferns abound in an unexpected rocky ravine of massive conglomerate rocks. Listen out for the Bell Birds while you are here. Watch the kids carefully - there is a lot of moss and leaf litter and unfenced drop-offs that could prove dangerous.
When searching - you don't want to be in the creek bed, there is a track higher up, start your search from up there - some rock hopping is needed....
