Knagur Green: Due to no response from the CO after the request to maintain or replace the cache after it was disabled 822 days ago, and no response from the CO since 11 Feb 2021, I am archiving it to, stop it showing on the listings and/or to create place for the geocaching community.

I would suggest a new cache be made should the CO wish to have a cache in this place when they are able visit the area toplace and maintain it

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival. This is explained in the Help Center

If the CO feels that this cache has been archived in error please feel free to contact me within 30 days, via email or message via my profile ,quoting the GC number concerned

Geocache Description:


This cache forms part of the Rietvlei Series, a series of caches placed in the Table Bay Nature Reserve - Rietvlei Section. Thank you to the Biodiversity Area Manager – Milnerton for permission to place this series of caches.

The Table Bay Nature Reserve is 880 hectares in area, of which the Rietvlei Section makes up a part. Activities that can be done in the reserve are running/jogging, hiking/walking, bird watching and picnics.

Entry to the nature reserve is limited to between 07h30 and 16h00, with anyone inside the reserve required to leave by 17h00. You will be locked in if you do not leave by 5pm! There is a fee for access to the nature reserve, which at the time of publishing is as follows: Vehicles R24, Adults R16 and Children R9.



This is a multi cache. At the listed co-ordinates you will find a some information boards. All the answers you need are on these information boards...

1. In terms of number and diversity of waterbirds, Rietvlei is amongst the top how many SA coastal wetlands? Let your answer be A,
2. The number of young curlew sandpipers at Rietvlei varies on a how many-year cycle? Let your answer be B.
3. Rodents are the most common animals in the strandveld. How many rodents are included on information board number 4? Let your answer be C.
4. How many yachts are pictured on information board number 8? Let your answer be D.
5. The two lakes at Rietvlei were created by dredging in what decade (1__0s)? Let the missing first missing digit be E and the second missing digit be F.

Stage two of this multi is located at S 33° C0.D(Bx2)(A-1)' E 018° 2E.F00'

Rietvlei Wetland in Table Bay Nature Reserve is what is known as an IBA or Important Bird Area. At Stage 2 you will be able to see what three digits are repeated in its IBA number. Let this digit be G.

The final location for this multi is at S 33° C0.(A-8)(A-G)C' E 18° 2E.F0(C-G)'
