Creation Celebration
10 -11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26th. - MIddle of the Morning.
This meeting is at Phil Hardberger Park (NW Military Entrance). The coordinates will take you to a picnic table near the basketball courts. Since it's impossible to reserve picnic tables in advance, if that particular table is already taken, I will set up nearby. Bring your lunch, or not. No food available for purchase. Porta-Potties, dog park and playground nearby. Hiking trails with geocaches. Plenty of parking.
This will be an educational event for geocachers (new and experienced) to share information about cache containers.
If possible, please bring some cache containers. We will discuss assessing the "size" of a container: What's a small? What's a regular? What's large?
New cachers can learn what a "bison" is and what an "ammo can" looks like.
If possible, please bring some creative cache containers (or photos of creative containers you have encountered).
Up for discussion: What makes a memorable container? What are container types to avoid? What types of containers make a cache more difficult to find? How can we create quality caches without spending a lot of money? How can we ensure that our cache containers stand up to the elements? How can we make sure our cache stays in place?
People often bring their trackable collections to share with others. Some people bring trackables that they want to pass on to other cachers.
For New Cachers:
Before the event: use the "Log Your Visit" button at the upper right hand side of the cache page. Post a "Will Attend" for this event if you think you might attend. This will make sure you receive any announcements about the event.
During the Event: sign the log sheet.
After the Event: post an "attended" log for the event to claim a "smiley" for the event. The event will be archived on April 2.. Remember to log any trackables that you discover or pick up.
