JLWE 2019 CITO Venue – Woolshed Flat Train Station

Event – Clearing the station of weeds and raking the area and painting rocks. BYO Gloves

Teams from Quorn Quondam Quest here is your chance to help keep a little bit of South Australian history alive.

The Pichi Richi Railway is a Flinders Ranges tradition, proudly restored and run by the Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society which is a non-profit railway preservation society run by volunteers since 1974.

Woolshed Flat where the CITO will occur is a station on the Pichi Richi railway and it could use your help.

The station is a part of the line that the Society Volunteers maintain to replicate the use of older South Australian Railway carriages(SAR) circa 1900 to 1915 hauled by a steam locomotive, or by a 1928 SAR diesel railcar.

The use of older SAR rolling stock on this train replicates what it was like to travel by country rail in South Australia in the very early 1900s to the 1960s. Much of this rolling stock was in service until the end of narrow gauge passenger operations by the South Australian Railways.

Come along and make a difference to a little piece of Australian history by assisting the volunteers to clean up this station.
