This cache is a virtual cache at the end of a hike from the Taizé Community (http://www.taize.fr/) in Burgandy, France.
The Taize community had it's beginnings in 1940, when Brother Roger, a Swiss monk bought a house in the village of Taizé, close to the demarcation line that divided France, as a place of refuge for those affected by the war, including Jews. In 1942 they were discovered and forced to leave, but in 1944 Brother Roger returned, bringing other monks. They welcomed boys orphaned by the war, and German prisoners of war from a nearby internment camp.
The community has grown, and now, every week from early spring to late autumn thousands of young people from all over the world come together at the community to meet, talk, and share ideas and beliefs. Sometimes there are up to 5000, from 75 different countries. This is fulfilling the original idea of the community being a place of reconciliation and understanding between divided and separated peoples.
The cache itself was set on an excursion from the community, and is a bench on the hillside opposite the community, looking back across. From this spot you can see a beautiful vista of the surrounding countryside, and also the tents and buildings of the community itself on the hilltop opposite. You can also see the TGV line from Paris to Lyon. (Nearest station is at Macon) The site is also easily accessible from Cluny, where you can see the remains of the monastary, once the most powerful place in the Roman Catholic church after Rome itself. Sat on the bench, turn to look north you can easily see some sets of numbers, one fairly close, and others a little further away. What are they? (Both the numbers, and on what you saw them) I will also accept a picture of the road to the north.
