HAWK COUNTRY Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chickadee Girl: While I was tromping thru the weeds to check on this, an unseen piece of barbed wire caught my foot and flipped me to the ground. That's enough of that! Don't want it to happen to someone else. Will go find another place to put a birdy cache.

Geocache Description:

Often seen on the phone poles along Agate Road or in the trees bordering the ponds just west along Tou Velle road are hawks of several species. The more common is a marsh hawk pair who patrol the open fields of the Denman Wildlife Area. There is a redtail nest just west of the first large pond (the fourth body of water west of Agate Rd) and they may usually be seen in the early mornings perched on a tall tree not far away. Further west and near the corner of Tou Velle Road (around the Bunker Loop gate) is another redtail who has shown up only this year in the area. Chickadee Girl walks the dog regularly out here and has enjoyed the constant presence of hunting raptors.
