Vernon Road Woods is an area of semi natural broadleaved woodland wich is designated as a grade C site of biological importance (SBI). Sites of biological importance are locally designated sites that represent some of the best habitats and collection of species in Greater Manchester. The sites location means it provides valuable habitat connectivity in an urbanised area, helping to provide an important habitat link between other wooodland sites such as woodbank local nature reserve and Crookilley Woods local nature reserve.
