Deze cache is vanaf de openbare weg bereikbaar, je hoeft geen tuinen te betreden (hooguit de berm in).
Als je zin hebt om door het bos van of naar de cache te lopen, dan kun je aan het eind van de straat bosgebied Landgoed Petrea in. Dit staat in verbinding met de bosgebieden Flip Hul en Zwolse Bos.
Geschiedenis van het Landgoed Petrea
Het grondgebied van het huidige Landgoed Petrea was ooit eigendom van de hertog van Gelre. Deze verkocht het omstreeks het jaar 1850 aan de bekende weerkundige Christophorus Buys Ballot. Het terrein bestond destijds voornamelijk uit heide. Hij probeerde uit het aanwezige keileem bakstenen te bakken. Dit werd echter nooit een succes. Algemeen wordt aangenomen dat de naam Petrea hiernaar verwijst (het Griekse woord "petra" betekent "rots" of "steen").
In 1903 werd het landgoed verkocht aan J.E. van der Meulen. Hij liet er een bos aanleggen. Zijn zoon liet het in 1968 na aan de natuurbeheerorganisatie Stichting Het Geldersch Landschap. Na het aangaan van een samenwerking met de Stichting Vrienden der Geldersche Kasteelen gingen zij verder onder de naam Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen (GLK).

If you feel like going to or from this cache via the woods, you can enter the woodland area Petrea Estate at the end of the road. It connects to the woodland areas Flip Hul and Zwolle Forest.
History of the Petrea Estate
The area of the current Petrea Estate was once the property of the duke of Gelre. He sold it to the famed Dutch meteorologist Christophorus Buys Ballot around the year 1850. The area consisted mostly of heath back then. He tried to bake bricks out of the clay that was there, but this was never very successful. It is generally believed that the name Petrea refers to this (the Greek word "petra" means "rock" or "stone").
The estate was sold to J.E. van der Meulen in 1903. He had the area turned into a forest. His son left it to the nature management organisation The Gelderland Landscape Foundation in 1968. After entering into a cooperation with the Friends of the Gelderland Castles Foundation, they continued together under the name Gelderland Landscape and Castles ("Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen", GLK).
