[ITA] Forte Santa Tecla
IL FORTE - Forte Santa Tecla (161 m.sl.m.) fu eretto tra il 1747 e il 1756, su un rilievo che domina il quartiere di San Martino e dove in tempi più antichi sorgeva la chiesa di Santa Tecla (anteriore al 1100). Fu progettato dall'ingegnere Jacques De Sicre nel contesto della Guerra di Sucessione Aaustriaca. Faceva parte della linea di difesa a protezione di San Martino, Albaro, e del Santuario della Madonna del Monte, essendo collegato a Forte Richelieu e Forte San Martino. Fu ampliato tra il 1814 e il 1830, e nel 1849 fu occupato dagli insorti della città. Durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale fu usato come prigione per gli austriaci. Dopo il 1981 è stato integralmente ristrutturato per adibirlo a centro culturale di quartiere, senza tuttavia trovare utilizzo a causa di scarsità di pianificazione; atti vandalici hanno successivamente vanificato parte dei lavori. Al momento è manutenuto da volontari della Protezione Civile.
Il forte comprende una superficie di 15000 mq, divisa in 25 ambienti di diversa dimensione; al centro del cortile, usato come piazza d'armi, sorgeva l'originaria chiesa di Santa Tecla; l'edificio principale è una caserma su tre piani; all'ingresso, si può ammirare lo stemma sabaudo.
LA CACHE - Piccolo contenitore, nascosto in uno dei camminamenti limitrofi alle mura principali del Forte. È accessibile 24/7; sconsiglio di recuperare la cache in giorni di vento eccessivo o di notte. Rimettete il contenitore come lo avete trovato, e PORTATEVI UNA PENNA; c'è posto per qualche SWAG e per piccoli TB. Alla fine del percorso vi ritroverete all'ingresso del Forte (al momento chiuso), in uno spiazzo da cui godere di una bellissima vista della città!

THE KEEP - The Fortress of Santa Tecla (161 m.a.s.l.) was built between 1747 and 1756; the keep is placed on a strategic hill that allows control over the districts of Albaro, San Martino, and the Shrine of Nostra Signora del Monte ("Our Lady of the hill"). The keep was named after the church of Santa Tecla (1100 ca.), that was included within the perimeter of the keep during the construction. The fortress is well connected to the Richelieu Fortress and the Fortress of San Martino, once forming a strong defence line. It was designed by Jacques De Sicre during the Austrian Succession War and expanded between 1814-1830. During 1849 the keep was seized by rebels; during World War I served as prison for Austrian soldiers. After 1981 was completely renewed to be used as cultural centre, but due to the lack of organisation it found no application. Acts of vandalism partially frustrated the renovation. Currently, is being preserved by volunteers of the Civil Protection.
The keep embrace a surface of 15000 sqm, subdivided into 25 rooms. In the middle of the yard, former parade ground, once stood the church of Santa Tecla. The main building is a three-floor barrack; the Savoy coats of arms can still be seen at the entrance of the keep.
THE CACHE - Small container, hidden inside a sheltered trench running around the walls. It is accesible 24/7. Please, avoid entering the keep during windy days or during night. Place the container back the way you found it, and BRING YOUR OWN PEN. There is some room for small SWAGs and TBs. At the end of the walk you'll find yourselves at the main entrance of the Fortress (currently closed), where you can enjoy a wonderful sight of the city!

[ITA] Se voleste farvi un giro, ma non aveste tempo per esplorare le strade attorno al forte alla cieca. L'itinerario è molto semplice: non serve attrezzatura, ma prestate comunque attenzione! Questa strada vi porterà prima alla cache e poi al punto panoramico.
[ENG] If you wish to explore, but you haven't much time to do it on your own. Easy trail, no need for particular equipment - but be careful! It will lead you to the cache and the panoramic viewpoint.
