Geocache Description:


Having bought all the farmland surrounding Duncan Down a property developer submitted plans to build houses on the entire plot.

These plans were vigorously opposed and eventually resulted in a compromise which saw 3 fields given over to Duncan Down which will double its size, with planning permission granted for housing to be built on the remaining land.

This cache is close to a former hayfield, one of the 3 fields which will be turned into wildlife meadows.
