Geocache Description:

The Jerusalem Pathbreaker's Memorial ("אנדרטת פורצי הדרך"), is located on the side of a hill overlooking highway 1, on the way to Jerusalem. It memorialized the soldiered who died during the Israel War of Independence (1948) in the many battles in defense of Jerusalem.
The memorial sculpture was constructed by Naomi Henrik, who won the design competition. It was dedicated in 1967, just a few months before the Six Day war. Because of its prominent location and eye-catching structure, this memorial has become a well-known waymark for anyone driving up to Jerusalem on highway 1. It also became the subject of the postal stamp seen below.

To reach the memorial (and cache), you should take the Shoresh exit from highway. Make sure you're in the north side of the highway (there's an underpass), then drive up from the roundabout. You'll pass an outdoor cafe, and shorty afterwards you'll reach the bottom of the stairs leading up the hill to the memorial. Don't forget to look at the view.
