The Central State Museum is one of the oldest and largest museums not only in Kazakhstan, but also the entire Central Asian region. Currently, the museum has seven main stationary halls. Diverse collection provides a good picture of the paleontological past, of the ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary history and cultural tradition of Kazakhstan. Admission to the museum is 300 tenge (less than $1) for locals and 500 tenge ($1.5) for foreigners. There are three special exhibitions for extra fee (around $3 each). Museum offers excursions in English for groups under 25 people (2000 tenge/$5 per hour). Admission time is 9.30 – 5.30; closed on Tuesday. The cache is NOT inside the museum so it’s accessible 24/7. p.s. use paperclip inside to pull out the log easier :)
