Geocache Description:




Fra le castella della Valleriana/Svizzera Pesciatina Fibbialla appare una delle più isolate.
Nonostante il borgo sia poco abitato e molte sono le case vuote, va detto che è ben tenuto. Fibbialla è tutta un saliscendi con intriganti passaggi stretti!
La chiesa di S. Michele, riedificata alla fine del 18° secolo, conserva al proprio interno una scultura quattrocentesca della Vergine Annunziata.
L'area del castello storico appare priva di fortificazioni: c’è solo qualche resto di muraglia nella parte più bassa del borgo che in passato poteva essere un’opera per la difesa.

CONSIGLIO: vicino alla cache (N 43° 56.834' E 10° 41.322') c'è un bellissimo punto panoramico da cui si vedono Vellano, Aramo, Pontito!

Among the castella of Valleriana/Svizzera Pesciatina, Fibbialla is one of the most isolated.
Even if the hamlet is almost empty, you will find it well maintained. Fibbialla is all ups and downs with some intriguing narrow passages!
S. Michele church was rebuilt at the end of 18th century and keeps inside a 15th century sculpture of the Virgin of the Annunciation.
The area of the historic castle seems without defense walls: just in the lower part of the village you will find some ruins of walls, that in the past times could be defense fortifications.

TIP: near the cache (N 43° 56.834' E 10° 41.322') there is a nice panoramic point from which you can see the hamlets of Vellano, Aramo and Pontito. Go there and take a picture!
