Lest We Forget: North Uist Traditional Cache
Lest We Forget: North Uist

This cache was set on a day when Scots would say "It's blowing a hoolie". Indeed, windspeeds at various times exceeded 69mph. It's at times like these that even the most dedicated geocacher will either stay in or seek out a cache-and-dash. It's for times like these that we have set this cache.
It is placed near the rather lovely war memorial for those from North Uist that have given their lives for their country. The memorial is located within a garden and there is a layby nearby to visit it.
Out of respect for the fallen and their kin, the cache itself is not placed within the garden but is easily accessible from the layby which is also the recommended parking spot.
The cache container is a small lock-and-lock within a camo bag. At the time of placement there is a small, painted stone and a FTF card for the first to find. Also, there is a log book, pencil and pen. There is room for small trackables too.
Whilst the road can hardly be described as busy, cars are regular and there are houses in the middle distance. So take care not to raise suspicions in the minds of muggles.
Please ensure you place the cache back, well hidden in its hiding place, and take some time to pay your respects at the memorial.
