Cache 3 - The Wyverns Nest - Where life is re-born!!
Wecome to the Sleeping Dragons Geo Route
This is the fourth of a group of 5 caches aimed with a story behind it.
Wyvern's used to use tree trunks to hide their young, this in itself would create new life.
Story has it that many a dragon used to live in the woods around Burley, this was up until the witches took over the village and cast spells which put the dragons into a deep sleep.
Rising 18 to 20 feet high and stretching to 50 feet long with a massive 45 foot wingspan, the mighty wyvern (known as the Draco Africanus as most individuals live in Africa although some live in Arabia) is the worlds largest dragon.
This dragon is famed for its mighty appetite, eating whole herds of deer and cattle and feasting upon bulls although it will eat any large herbivore (except for giraffes which dragonologists speculate they find too boney) which they heard together with their fiery breath.
They then lift their hapless prey off the ground with their claws and drop it from a height. For this behaviour they have earned the nickname "sky dropper" and their habit of primarily targeting elephants leads to it frequently being mistaken for rocs, a elephant-hunting bird that operates in the same area and also drops its prey to the ground.
"This cache is on forestry comission land and has been placed in accordance with the GAGB - forestry comission agreement. As part of this agreement, it is not permitted to seek the cache during the hours of darkness"
This is a route designed by young children, specifically for young children.
This cache is within easy walking distance of the car park.
look for the spot where life has been reborn, and this is where you will find the location where the wyvern has been laying it eggs.
