Have just returned from an amazing trip to Stewart Island ( Rakiura )...New Zealand's third Island ...for the first time !
Two of us completed the 3 Day trek...staying at North Arm, then Port William Huts .
We had an amazing week exploring the island with 9 Walking Group friends from Auckland.
Mostly we did shorter walks; as we were based in Oban at lovely Kereru House and had no wheels ..
The last night was super special as we saw kiwi !!!!!!
I have decided to place 2 caches here ; which others can access from Oban if they also have no car.
.It will be maintained by a cacher in Invercargill !
I noticed this position after we had done the Horseshoe Ponit Track..... At first I thought it was an Island ...but no !
There is a gravel path to walk out on . Hop round a couple of rocks and you will soon see it ...waist height .
