Was recently priviledged to have 2 weeks in Southland ; And one of the weeks was at the amazing Stewart Island !
Our walking group did a couple of walks each day; and explored many lush bush walks, and we were all totally amazed by all the stunning sandy beaches .
Loved reading up on the history we could read on the many Information Boards ...and in the Museum .
Two of us completed the 3 day hike also !
I took my togs ...but water was a bit chilly !
When we did the walk to Horseshoe Point and back we enjoyed the caches ....
We stayed at Kereru House ....And there is a lovely small cove sort of beach nearby called Bathers Bay . This one didn't have a geocache ...so I have placed an easy one here .
It will be maintained by a cacher in Invercargill.
There are about 3 ways to access the cache ...There are 2 access points to the beach from Kamahi Rd ...off Horseshoe Bay Rd
One has a sign . The other way looks like a private drive ...between 7 and 7b
Go down it and you will come to a track which leads to steps ...
I am giving heaps of clues cos not good to get a dnf on holiday !
It is a small sistema ....Unactivated Penguin TB inside !
Please keep well hidden under leaves
