Welcome to Blair County's newest park!
NatureWorks Park includes a walkway with instructional signage, a mitigated wetland and boardwalk, a pollinator garden, “soft access” to the Beaverdam Branch of the Juniata River, two pavilions, an amphitheatre and demonstration areas for plants/crops, stormwater alternatives, riparian buffer establishment and wetlands---oh--and a regular-sized geocache!
The hide should not be difficult for most geocachers, as we primarily wanted an opportunity for people to enjoy this park. Please be respectful of the wetland surroundings and replace the cache as you found it--this includes returning the logbook to the container inside the container!
This park is made possible from the work of the Blair County Conservation District, as well as a state grant from PA DCNR totaling $250,000; the Altoona Sunrise Rotary provided $4,000 and the remainder of funds will be from the Conservation District Account funded through the Public Utility Commission from the Marcellus Shale program.
Congrats to m3a9 on the first to find!
