Geocache Description:

When it comes to serving others, geocaching, and going on adventures, Buley did it best!

Born on February 15, 2005 in Hemet, California, Buley was one of 8 new puppies belonging to an organization that provides highly trained assistance dogs for people living with disabilities. In a few short weeks, Buley was matched with her new puppy raisers: my future wife Rebecca (Called2Care), and her parents Wesley & Lynda (Buleycomes2).

For the next 18 months, Buley was raised and trained for excellence in the service dog program, which included countless hours learning commands and socialization skills, maintaining a healthy diet, and being immersed in unmeasurable love. At the conclusion, Buley was considered best of the best, and graduated as a breeder for the organization.

As a breeder, Buley got to stay with Called2Care and buleycomes2, ultimately delivering 5 beautiful litters of puppies. In total, 22 of Buley's offspring grew up to serve individuals with disabilities (9 became service dogs, assisting adults with physical disabilities by performing daily tasks; 7 became skilled companion dogs, enhancing independence for children and adults with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities; 5 became facility dogs, working with clients with special needs in a visitation, education, criminal justice or health care setting; 1 dog was trained to detect low blood sugars for patients with type 1 diabetes)

When Buley retired as a breeder, she lived the last 8 years of her life as a geocaching companion to buleycomes2, hiking hundreds of miles along some of the most beautiful trails in northern California.

Sadly, Called2Care & Buleycomes2 said farewell to their beloved Buley on March 9, 2019. This geocache is hidden at Elsie Holmes Nature Park, a place Buley would have enjoyed to hike with her family.

You're looking for a 30cal ammo box hidden in a traditional spot. Sign the log, trade some goodies, and share a photo with your geocaching companion at the cache.
