A mountain is a large landform that rises above the surrounding land in a limited area, usually in the form of a peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill. Mountains are formed through tectonic forces or volcanism. These forces can locally raise the surface of the earth. A few mountains are isolated summits, but most occur in huge mountain ranges.

Mountaineering is a generic term related to any activity connected with the mountain. In a sports context, mountaineering means the practice of all the running activity under conditions of medium mountain, that is up to 2 500 m and is thus considered a sport linked to ecological and recreational tourism. Mountain climbing should not be so confused with mountaineering which requires a very good physical condition, a proper mountain equipment, a technique of his own progression, and requires the presence of a guide to choose the path and ensure the corded ware.

Uma montanha é um acidente geográfico grande que se eleva acima os terrenos envolventes em uma área limitada, geralmente sob a forma de um pico. Uma montanha é geralmente mais acentuada do que uma colina. Montanhas são formadas através de forças tectônicas ou vulcanismo. Estas forças localmente podem elevar a superfície da terra. Algumas montanhas são cumes isolados, mas ocorrem mais em enormes cadeias de montanhas.

Montanhismo é um termo genérico relacionado com toda a atividade ligada com a montanha. Num contexto desportivo, o montanhismo designa a prática de toda a atividade de marcha em condições de média montanha, ou seja até 2 500 m e é assim considerado um desporto ligado ao turismo ecológico e de recreio. O montanhismo não deve ser assim confundido com o alpinismo que exige uma muito boa condição física, um equipamento de montanha apropriado, uma técnica de progressão que lhe é própria, e necessita a presença de um guia para escolher o trajeto e assegurar a cordada.

Tavira is a Portuguese city in the district of Faro, region and sub-area of the Algarve, with about 13 400 inhabitants. It is located in the area of the Sotavento (eastern Algarve).

It is the seat of a municipality with 606.97 km² of area and 26 167 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 6 parishes. The municipality is limited to the north by the municipality of Alcoutim, to the east by Castro Marim and the western part of the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, to the southwest by Olhão, to the west by São Brás de Alportel, to the northwest by Loulé and to the south has coastline in the Atlantic Ocean.

Tavira é uma cidade portuguesa no Distrito de Faro, região e sub-região do Algarve, com cerca de 13 400 habitantes. Situa-se na zona do Sotavento (Algarve oriental).

É sede de um município com 606,97 km² de área e 26 167 habitantes (2011), subdividido em 6 freguesias. O município é limitado a norte pelo município de Alcoutim, a leste por Castro Marim e pela parte ocidental do concelho de Vila Real de Santo António, a sudoeste por Olhão, a oeste por São Brás de Alportel, a noroeste por Loulé e a sul tem litoral no oceano Atlântico.
