Some beautiful birds have been spotted along the San Marcos Open Space Trail. They appear to be nesting nearby. Unfortunately some hungry cats are also prowling around looking for dinner! Well, cats have to eat, too.
This cache is hidden in San Marcos Open Space in Saratoga. This park has one trail that's about 1/4 mile long. Convenient street parking is available on either end. The City of Saratoga Trails map shows that you can make it a .6 mile loop by walking through the neighborhood (although part of it looks like someone's driveway to me). The cache is on the uphill side of the trail, about 50' up the slope. The terrain rating is for this last stretch. Once you're there, it should be easy to spot.
Please respect posted park hours and be cautious of the usual off-trail hazards. I didn't see any poison oak in the area of the cache or along the likely approaches. Happy hunting!
Congrats to not2b on the FTF!
