I haven't concentrated too much on benchmarks recently but since I've always enjoyed caches that were benchmark-related, I thought I'd try some simple puzzles that are based on benchmarks.
All you have to do is identify this benchmark, enter the six character benchmark code (XXXXXX) into the certitudes checker and if you're correct, the checker will respond with the coordinates for the cache. Since GC.com no longer maintains a Benchmark Database it is now quite a bit more difficult to find this code. For a quick way to get it, see the hint.
When you find the cache there might be a somewhat obstructed view of this benchmark to the southwest over the wall if you look carefully (and depending upon the foliage). If you want the same view as the above photo, you should take the short drive to the benchmark coordinates. No need to get out of your car when you get to the benchmark location!
