In 1865, William and Catherine Booth founded this organization (in England) to preach the gospel to the poor, the homeless, the hungry and the destitute. Today, that same caring spirit touches needy people in 130 countries around the world. Many only see this organization’s work at Christmas, and during times of national and international disasters, but this organization is quietly and consistently helping hurting people in this community every day.
