Las letras se inventaron para ser leídas, pero no me cabe ninguna duda de que pueden ser uno de los objetos visuales más bellos inventados por el ser humano. El diseñador gráfico analiza detenidamente el mensaje y selecciona, en relación a éste, una forma visual determinada que lo potencie. Así nace la tipografía creativa, el arte de comunicar mediante signos impresos. Y en las ciudades las letras están por todas partes, cientos, un ejército que nos rodea siempre dispuesto a reclamar nuestra atención con las más dispares intenciones.

Este caché pertenece a una serie que quiero llevar a otras ciudades de Andalucía. La idea está tomada de cachés similares: Madrid at night GC6DXCB y Barcelona de nit GC80AFH que a su vez se inspiraron en Bristol at Night GC17M68 (creo que el más antiguo) o en el de Bruselas (Bélgica): Letters on the Wall GC5M5MG, ambos ya archivados. Se presta fácilmente al trabajo en equipo, tanto en la búsqueda sobre el terreno como desde casa llevando el control y los números. En su defecto puede ser una buena ayuda el método convencional de papel y lápiz.
Se trata de dar un paseo por el centro de Córdoba, preferiblemente de noche, buscando las letras con las que se ha compuesto la fotografía de arriba, tomadas de palabras en los luminosos de los comercios. Todas las palabras están en el paseo se puede ver en el mapa de abajo, entre la Puerta de Gallegos (coordenadas iniciales) y la Plaza de las Tendillas recorriendo toda la calle Concepción, Conde de Gondomar y algún breve anexo. Las palabras que buscamos no están en orden por lo que es indiferente dar el paseo en sentido contrario.
Solución. Una vez conseguidas las 14 palabras contaremos sus letras (solo la palabra, no todo el rótulo) y así tendremos los números necesarios para encontrar las coordenadas que confirmaremos en el Certitude. En el caso de que veamos la misma letra en dos palabras del mismo nombre comercial tomaremos la primera de las palabras. Por ejemplo si vemos la “a” en General Óptica apuntaremos: General = 7. LL, RR o CH se contarán como dos letras.
