Wild Card: Year Permits available for all our guests. The journey started on the 31st January 2016 when traveling home from a wonderful weekend in Mpumalanga with family. My niece mentioned this hobby that she was involved in called geocaching. Intrigued, I loaded the app and found my first cache a few days later. Little did I know that this first little container would change and influence my life so profoundly. So here we sit, 3 years later, a world of memories created, life-long friends made and a planned trip back to Mpumalanga where it all began, for me at least.
Our crazy, adventurous, fun and awesome caching crew have decided after Ezemvelo, Tswaing, Sani and a Mega, that this will be our next adventure! And we welcome cachers from far and wide to join us!
We will start in Kaapsehoop, move on to Marloth Park, on through Kruger to Skukuza and a final night in Graskop. We hope to have many cachers join us along the way and to make many new memories that will stay with us for a lifetime! You are not obliged to stay the night at each venue nor attend every event in the trip to log the event caches. You may attend one or all four if you wish. Log each one, as you meet us along the way. Please remember that this area is a Malaria area and you attend at your own risk. Consult your doctor regarding Malaria prevention medication.
“I will look back at it and smile because it was life and I decided to live it.”
Day 1: Kaapsehoop.
Arrive at your leisure. Event to start at Koek n Pan. You are not obligated to purchase anything but they are well known for their sweet and savory pancakes. After the event, we will do the walk/hike up to the escarpment edge to enjoy the view and sunset. The hike is about an hour each way and not too difficult or rigorous. We will return to accommodation in Kaapsehoop for the evening.

Day 2: Caching through Nelspruit and Marloth Park.
An early departure from Kaapsehoop, through Nelspruit and on to Marloth Park. Cache at your leisure along the route from Nelspruit through to Marloth Park. I would suggest arriving in Marloth Park at lunch time as there are lots of fun caches in the estate which allow you to cache with wildlife and amazing views. All should be done by the sunset event on the river. Please bring your own camping chairs and drinks and enjoy the sunset while watching the animals in the Kruger come down to the river for a drink. If you would like to join, we will have a communal braai and games for the evening at a location to be determined and advised.
Accomodation: There are many options for accomodations in Marloth Park. Safarinow.co.za and lekkerslaap.co.za are a good place to look
Day 3: Skukuza
An early departure from Marloth Park through Crocodile Bridge and a leisurely drive at your own pace through the Kruger Park up to Skukuza for the Lunch event at the location of the Virtual Cache in Skukuza Rest Camp. Please bring your own drinks and camping chairs to enjoy the view. After the event, you are welcome to head home or explore the park and join us for a braai at a location to be advised once accommodation is booked.
