Back in Aug 2002 when I started Geocaching, there were no caches in Nipomo. I placed the first one, but being new to the game I made some mistakes. I then took a break from geocaching (big mistake) while I raised my family. This cache is in honor of the first cache I placed and the first one in Nipomo. It is the same size as the original cache - big enough for SWAG - but in a more durable container than the original.
The cache is available 24/7, but the parking lot which is inside the park closes at dusk and there is a fee April - September. A geocacher can park closer to the cache, but it is not a designated parking area. The trail is very sandy and is not stroller friendly.
