Nearly a year since I placed the cache at the old Manuel viaduct, I thought it was time to put out this and another at the old nunnery.
This is a quick cache and dash. Parking is right at the cache location for 1 car.
The Avon Viaduct carries the Glasgow to Edinburgh railway over the river avon. The 442 yard 23 arch bridge was built in 1841 by John Miller, engineer for the Edinburgh and Glasgow railway. It consists of 20 segmental arches, and 3 semi-circular arches to each end. Cream squared and coursed sandstone ashlar rusticated piers. Impost banding to each arch, band course at parapet.
The container only contains a log sheet, so bring your own pen/pencil.
