Townsville is blessed with a wonderful river system. While it is the lifeblood of our city it can also provide heartache.
The torrents of water that flowed down from the dam not only inundated many low lying structures but scoured and gouged at the banks, stripping trees, jetties, undermining the weir walls, washing away amenities. The waterlevels lifted debris high into the trees, making for some interesting sights as you wander along the paths along the Ross River.
The journey to the GZ once again is only accessible by watercraft. It isn’t just a paddle and grab but takes you to a rocky cluster on the far bank. Plenty of spots to hide all types of caches. Plenty of nooks and crevasses and rocks to hide amongst.
