Milos and Squeeky were out and about in the Waterford area today placing some new hides..... this is a sort of homecoming for Milos as he spent his formative years growing up and going to high school here in town. Welcome to the Waterford Deer Park which was established in 1942. The deer you see are English Fallow Deer and are considerably smaller than our resident white tail deer here in Ontario. In 2011 a breach in the fencing resulted in coyotes wiping out the entire female population. Through the efforts of some local residents 3 female fallow deer were purchased and relocated here in the fall of 2011. The herd population is once again healthy and thriving thanks to the generous donations and efforts of the public.
