Kepa Bush comprises 14 hectares of lovely open native bush on the Eastern Slopes of a valley containg Purewa Creek ! This flows past Orakei Basin and then to Hobson Bay. Views of Orakei Basin and nearby Volcanoes
Has varied terrain including flat walks and steepish formed steps ,,,plus some narrower tricky tracks down by the creek ...would be slippery in wet weather .There are lovely viewpoints ... and information Boards !
It has had a lot of improvements over the last 5 years !
Plus Friends of Kepa Bush seem quite active too . Nice that there doesn't seem to be any rubbish dumped here !
I somtimes park in Colenso Place ,,, But not much space so Eastridge car park is also fine.
It is a lovely cool place to walk when hot and humid elsewhere !
Near this cache ,,,, which is near one end of the circuit ; you can walk to a viewing platform and admire a 300 year old Kohekohe Tree !
Cache is one step off the track . near Junction . Please rehide well !
