Ron and Luke had a geocache at this location, Before Your Climb. It was destroyed by the Thomas Fire in December 2017. Out Of The Ashes (OOTA) come new geocaches.
We found the remnants of Ron and Luke's previous find on March 25, 2019. It was cracked, melted, and not in a viable condition. We picked it up, but placed a similarly sized geocache, a Talenti Gelato container. It is placed behind the somewhat-heart-shaped rock on the south side of the trail. It should be an easy find.
The geocache name is recognizing that when Ron and Luke first set this geocache, this trail was new and unimproved. Not far from here the trail petered out in a mass of impassible Chaparral. Since the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy obtained this land, they have established and maintained the trails ensuring free public access. It is a great organization. I certainly appreciate and support their efforts.
