The name of this cache is a play on words, placed in memory of SID COUNTS. He, his wife and 4 kids were fairly new to geocaching, loved this family activity and used COUNTS CHARACTERS as their caching handle.
Sid, 43, was tragically killed in a vehicle accident in July, 2018. Ironically, he was a crew chief for one of New Mexico's largest safety contractors, in charge of traffic safety on various road projects statewide. Stressing SAFETY was his big concern, even in caching.
Sid was a very devoted and loving family man. This enthusiastic family attended this CO's Stanley's Salute to Canada's Sesquicentennial Event, GC75Y1P, logging 4 FTF's.
We wish Sid's family the best in safety and caching............continuing to remember that SAFETY COUNTS!
Parking available within several feet of the cache. Be discreet. For SAFETY reasons, stay on the small pullout area east of the cache.
