Geocache Description:

The virtual cache is northeast of Alpine and Southeast of Springerville and begins at the Escudilla Trail #308 Trailhead.

From Alpine drive North to Forest Road 56. (Around mile marker 241)
From Springerville drive south to Forest Road 56. (Around mile marker 241)
Travel 3.6 to Terry Flat; take the left fork past Tool Box Draw; approximately .5 miles to the trailhead.

This is a very nice 3-mile hike that begins at 9,600 ft elevation through a very dense aspen forest. The trail climbs steady for 1.5 miles and passes through several high Alpine meadows for about 1.5 miles; and then through a dense Spruce and fir forest for the last mile. The trail ends at the top of the 3rd highest peak in Arizona. (10,995 ft elevation) There is a fire lookout tower that offers 360-degree views of the White Mountains. On a clear day, you can see the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff, Mount Graham to the Southwest, Mount Baldy to the West and the entire Blue Range Primitive Area. This is one of the most scenic hikes in Northeast Arizona.

Have a nice hike.
