Geocache Description:

You know when you get the letters mixed up, and go down a road out of curiosity, and then find something of interest.  Well, this is one of those.  We were driving past Taramoa Road, and I was thinking My grandparents and dad came to NZ on a boat with that name.  It turns out the boat was 'Tamaroa' of the Shaw Saville and Albion Line, but wrong spelling.

So here we are, cache placed under the 'A' of TARAMOA (on some maps), at the junction with a road which now seems to be a 'paper road' -  it's still on the map, but I'm not sure the farmer would welcome you using it.

It also seems there might be some missing history, and if anyone can remember, I would love to know what happened to Taramoa Hall, and was it at this junction or miles up the road.

Great place to visit, as I learn more about Southland.  The cattle nearby could be 'Angus.'

Cache is a quick park and grab, but parents/grandparents should closely supervise children.

Night caching is discouraged.

Should cache maintenance be required please contact cache owner.
