This geocache is at the gateway to the Catlins. With beaches, waterfalls and forests many people love it. The cache is beside the Owaka Hwy that runs all the way from Balclutha to Invercargill. It changes it's name along the way multiple times. Some of the names are Papotawai Hwy, Chaslands Hwy, and Niagara-Tokonui Hwy. Most people from Otago that want to get to the Catlins go along this road which is why it is the gateway to the Catlins. The cache is big but not a large. It contains a logbook and pencil as well as a few swappables. It is good for Trackables as it has plenty of room. The cache is near a busy road and train tracks so watch children. To get to the park at the given way point or follow the way point description. When you are there I highly recommend that you go over the fence or gate and walk along the public grassy flood bank. There may be sheep. You do not have to leave the flood bank to get the geocache. If you have reached the 100 km sign you have gone too far.
