Today I mark a farewell to Essex and the UK, as I depart for Australia, and then onwards through Asia and other parts of the world. There's a strong possibility I won't be returning to Essex.
You've all treated me so nicely, so I needed to organise a little send off. I found my first cache in Essex in April 2015, and from that point I decided I wanted to place many of my own, and become well known for my hobby in the county. I can happily say I achieved my goals, so now it's time to move on and achieve more goals elsewhere. For me, this really is the end of an era. Dare I say, I'm a little emotional. Having moved to Essex in 2013, I've loved every moment. I will miss it, and I will miss you all.
Meet inside Promenade Park at the published coordinates between 1pm and 1:30pm. There are refreshments and WC nearby - hopefully they'll be open. If anybody fancies a cheeky pint, there are two pubs nearby that we can go to after the meet!
I've given the entrance to the car park in the waypoints. Unfortunately this is a pay and display, but there are other car parks in the town to choose from (probably cheaper); and also roadside spots (or establishments) in Maldon where you can park for free. I'll let you decide. The Prom is completely wheelchair accessible, and great fun for mini-cachers too!
