Gretna is a small township in the Derwent Valley of Tasmania, Australia. It was formerly known as Macquarie Plains.
The population is small and the area is generally used for farming
The town and surrounding area has/had successful football and cricket teams in the past
To my knowledge, both are still active
This cache will take you to the Gretna Sports Ground where there are BBQ and playground facilities
Further along the road toward Hobart, the local War Memorial is worth a visit as is a little time to search for the cache located nearby
We generally drop into the local for quiet rest before continuing our journey
