Road to the Abbey
The Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma was founded in 996 and is still a permanent monastery of Saint Benedict, one of Hungary's most outstanding historical monuments, a center of church and art history. It is located in Győr-Moson-Sopron county, in the Pannonhalma district, in Pannonhalma's town (formerly called Győrszentmárton). Nowadays there lives a monastic community of forty people in the spirit of the ora et labora, they greet the prayers, operate the residential high school, perform cultural work with library, archives, museum, book publishing and concerts, and work on the financial foundation for the operation of the abbey, including the maintenance of a winery, herb garden, and the reception of guests.

Many go alongside it, but there it is: a hidden trail, a heap to the mountain, no asphalt on the horizon. The little path bends in the shadows of the trees, and its stairs are lined with a series of tables called "History of Pannonhalma City in 23 Tables". Maybe there is a simpler way to the famous abbey and its surroundings - but it is the most beautiful.
Look for the crate among the trees. The coordinate may make some wandering because of the weaker GPS signal, but have your eyes look for the most spectacular tree. The secret is guarded by a brick. Stable hiking shoes are recommended, periodically there is a potential ticks-danger! Tiny treasure can be placed, bring a pen with you, be careful.

Út az Apátsághoz
A Pannonhalmi Bencés Főapátság 996-ban alapított és azóta is folyamatosan működő Szent Benedek-rendi monostor, Magyarország egyik kiemelkedő történelmi emlékhelye, egyházi és művészettörténeti központja. Győr-Moson-Sopron megyében, a Pannonhalmi járásban, Pannonhalma városban (régi nevén Győrszentmárton) található. Napjainkban is élő, mintegy negyven fős szerzetesközösség lakja, akik az ora et labora szellemében végzik a liturgiát, fogadják a lelkigyakorlatozókat, működtetik a bentlakásos gimnáziumot, kulturális munkát végeznek – könyvtár, levéltár, múzeum, könyvkiadó működtetésével, koncertek szervezésével –, valamint dolgoznak az apátság működésének anyagi megalapozásán is, többek között borászat, gyógynövénykert fenntartásával és vendégek fogadásával.

Sokan elmennek mellette, pedig ott van: egy nem is olyan rejtett tanösvény, egy kapató a hegyre, aszfalt sehol a láthatáron. A kis ösvény a fák árnyékában kanyarog, lépcsőit pedig egy táblasorozat szegélyezi, amit "Pannonhalma Város Története 23 Táblában" névre kereszteltek. Talán van egyszerűbb út is a híres apátsághoz és környékéhez - de ez a legszebb.
A ládát a fák között keresd. A koordináta a gyengébb GPS-jel miatt talán kicsit vándorolni fog, de szemed a leglátványosabb fát keresse. A titkot egy tégla vigyázza. Stabil túracipő ajánlott, időszakosan potenciális a kullancsveszély! Apró kincs elhelyezhető, tollat hozz magaddal, légy óvatos.
