This is part of my Trainspotting Series. Us cachers enjoy making our hunts a great hobby. Well another hobby that exists out there is called Trainspotting, also known as railfanning. Yes, its those people you see beside the railroad tracks with a camera ready and waiting for their perfect shot or catch. This series will take you to many spots that has or could be used for this hobby. If your lucky enough to have a train go by while hunting for this cache, be sure to grab a photo and add to your log!
REMEMBER, Railroad safety is priority #1. Please stay off the tracks and be safe.
Caches will always be in a safe spot away from any danger.

WELCOME to the Salmon River Railway Bridge, one of my most favourite spots to trainspot (railfan) in all of Quinte. This spot is in my top 3 spots. The positions you can get here make for an amazing shot. The reason I never hid one here before is because I thought i'd be too close to the other local cache here, but today we checked it out and one just had to be here.
In 2010-2011, CN was reengineering the Kingston Subdivsion to support its 3rd track. The Salmon River Railway Bridge was one they took very seriously as this area mark a historic site. This bridge is actually two bridges separated by a short section earth-supported elevated railway. One bridge is an attractive stone arch crossing Milltown Road. The other is a deck plate girder bridge crossing Salmon River, and supported by stone piers and abutments. Some bridges are widened by adding structures while other bridges on this section of railway, while others are likely at risk for demolition. During the HistoricBridges.org field visit to these bridges, the stone arch had already been altered by having a concrete arch added to the northern side to accommodate this widening. Work appeared to have been started to add a bridge parallel to the deck plate girder as well.
